Collected Words

I like to collect words that I come across as I read/ Here are some of my favorites and some of my least favorite.
Like
Detritus - Rock in small particles or other material worn or broken away from a mass, as by the action of water or glacial ice. Any disintegrated material; debris.
Glimmer - The opposite of a trigger. Glimmers are those moments in your day that make you feel joy, happiness, peace, or gratitude. Once you train your brain to be on the lookout for glimmers, these tiny moments will appear more and more.
Glamsy - how the sky looks before a big storm—dark and turbulent over here, while at the same time you have brilliant sunlight cutting through the clouds over there—like in some kind of bad Biblical movie when God talks to the hero.
Mumpsimus - someone who insists they are right, despite clear evidence that they are not.
Obstreperous - noisy and difficult to control
Flocculent - having or resembling tufts of wool
Anodyne- not likely to provoke dissent or offense; inoffensive, often deliberately.
Threnody - a lament
Petrichor - a pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather
Pulchritudinous - physically beautiful; comely
Logorrhea - a tendency to extreme loquacity
Gallimaufry - A jumble; a hodgepodge.
Sangfroid - composure or coolness, sometimes excessive, as shown in danger or under trying circumstances.
Gormless - lacking intelligence and vitality
Ni! – A word of power used by the Knights Who Say “Ni!” to strike fear into the hearts of travelers (and sometimes to demand shrubberies).

Ultracrepidarian - Somebody who gives opinions on subjects they know nothing about.
Kuchisabishii (Japanese) - When you’re not hungry, but you eat because your mouth is lonely.
Crepuscular - of, relating to, or resembling twilight; dim; indistinct.
Syzygy – The straight-line configuration of three celestial bodies (like the sun, moon, and earth) in a gravitational system. It’s a rare “triple-y” word that feels like a puzzle.
Dislike
Peon - a person who does menial work; a drudge
Disseminate - spread or disperse (something, especially information) widely: health authorities should foster good practice by disseminating information.
Ointment - a soft, unctuous preparation, often medicated, for application to the skin; unguent.
Slacks - men’s or women’s trousers for informal wear.
Trump - to devise deceitfully or dishonestly, as an accusation.
Pustule – A small blister or pimple on the skin containing pus.
Turgid – Often used to describe something swollen or pompous.
Wattles – Referring to fleshy folds of skin.
